Thomas, Lillian Beynon: 1874-1961. Born at Hartney, Manitoba; left school teaching to join the weekly publication of the Winnipeg Free Press called Prairie Farmer, on which she edited "Home loving hearts" page, 1909; married A.V. Thomas, a fellow journalist, 1911; with Nellie McClung was a leader of the Equality League advocating the franchise for women, 1912-1916; with her husband lived in New York for several years after 1917; returned to journalism in Winnipeg (Country guide, February 1953). // Novel by a Manitoba author.
